-How does Afro remit work?
AfroRemit enables you to send money from any part of the world directly to a registered MTN mobile money number in Uganda.
All you need is your Visa/MasterCard to complete the transaction.
-How do I send money?
To send money, simply go to afroremit.com, enter the amount you would like to send, the recipient's phone number then click proceed to pay.
You will be shown a summary of how much the recipient will recieve as well as any charges involved.
To complete the transaction, fill in your card details on the next step and click complete.
Once your transaction is successful, you will receive a confirmation of payment and the recipient's mobile money account will be credited/topped up with the amount you sent.
-Can I send money outside Uganda?
At the moment, AfroRemit only supports registered MTN Mobile Money Uganda numbers. However we are in the process of expanding our network across Africa.
-What Exchange rate do you use?
Simply Log onto afroremit.com to view the current real time exchange rate.
-How long does it take to receive money?
Your remittance should take no more than a few minutes to complete once all transaction verification checks are passed and the senders card charged successfully.
However should you experience any delay, our excellent 24/7 support team will be ready to assist you. (Kindly look at our contact lines at the bottom of every page)
-What are the charges involved?
All charges are displayed in real time on the "Transaction Summary Panel".
The receiver is not charged for receiving money sent through Afroremit with the exception of charges from the Mobile Money provider including but not limited to bill payments, peer to peer transfers and cash withdrawals.
-What do I do if the recipient's number is not registered?
In case Afroremit indicates that a number is not fully registered, kindly inform the recipient to go to the nearest MTN service center to have their MTN number fully registered.
Once their number has been fully registered, you may proceed with your transaction.
